We’ve been getting some amazing weather in the Basin this week, so I decided to check out a trail on Moore Mountain that I’ve yet to ride. I started out at the Link River parking lot and made my way up Sawmill trail into Moore Park where I connected Hayride to 5 Gallon and took it all the way up the mountain. There are some amazing views of the Upper Klamath Lake and the surrounding areas. On super clear days like this, I was easily able to see the Cascade Peaks in the background as well.

This view here is from around halfway up 5 Gallon Trail. I always loved the views from the Moore Mountain Park Trails. I only wish I had brought my good camera, but decided to not risk busting my expensive camera. Was a good call as well, considering I crashed on a section of the downhill. I’m clearly a clairvoyant.
I mounted my go-pro on this short ride and cut a quick edit of some of the trail that you can checkout in the video below. I wrote a song a few months ago about how much I like living in this area called, “Kicking Dust” that I laid over the video as well.
The ride up was a bit harder than I anticipated, but I want to say it was because I haven’t ridden in a while. This is only the 3rd ride I’ve done since the season started out here, and am getting back into the swing of things. Will definitely give this trail another shot – and try not to fall this time.
